About Mike

Conservative Republican State Senator Mike Gaskill, a Madison County native, is serving his first term representing District 26, which is currently composed of most of Madison County as well as portions of Delaware and Henry counties. Following last year’s redistricting process, Gaskill is now a resident of District 25 which is composed of all of Madison County and a portion of Hamilton County.

A Pendleton native, Mike graduated from Pendleton Heights High School and Anderson University. He opened an insurance and financial services business in Anderson in 1993, which he still owns and operates today. Prior to his election to the State Senate in 2018, Mike had served on the South Madison Community School Board and the Madison County Council.

During his tenure on the county council and as state senator, Mike has never voted for a tax increase, and he will continue to fight to make sure Hoosiers get to keep more of their hard-earned income. As a small business owner, he understands how critical it is to have a business climate conducive to growing the economy and creating jobs.

An honest, hard-working conservative, Mike is a strong fighter for family values.

He has a 100% voting score for his efforts from the Indiana Family Institute, and he was named Indiana’s most conservative legislator of all 150 members of the Indiana General Assembly by the American Conservative Union. Mike will always fight to protect the unborn, to preserve our Second Amendment freedoms, and to uphold the traditional Hoosier values that make this state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Mike has been a champion for school choice and for giving Hoosier parents a greater voice when it comes to their children’s education.

Mike is a 46-year member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson. He and his wife Kelly, who have been married for 36 years, have two sons, a daughter, and seven grandchildren.
